Twitter Moms is always having nice exciting contests! Here is my entry. List ten things you do to keep your kids and family happy in the car.

1. Pack snacks and drinks in a travel cooler.

2. We put a trashcan in the car, so the trash is not thrown in the floor and can be easily thrown away

3. My son gets to bring an item of choice, usually his nintendo Ds

4. I Make sure and pack a family friendly CD that sings all current and old kid songs.

5. I put the camera in the passenger seat, so whomever is NOT driving can make sure to take those moments we dont want to miss

6. I always pack a canister of germ free wipes, so any spills can get gotten up and faces can be wiped up!

7. We bring 2 small  blankets so someone can wrap up if the other gets cold and we can snuggle with .

8. We stop every 2 hours and everyone can stretch their legs.

9. The driver gets to at least listen to one hour of his or her chosen channel on the radio.

10. Everyone smile, no arguing, no asking are we gonna be there yet!

THE FRESH AIR FUND, an independent, not-for-profit agency, has provided free summer vacations to more than 1.7 million New York City children from low-income communities since 1877. Nearly 10,000 New York City children enjoy free Fresh Air Fund programs annually. In 2008, close to 5,000 children visited volunteer host families in suburbs and small town communities across 13 states from Virginia to Maine and Canada. 3,000 children also attended five Fresh Air camps on a 2,300-acre site in Fishkill, New York. The Fund’s year-round camping program serves an additional 2,000 young people each year.
